Ahir dimecres 29 d’abril la Universitat de Lleida va rebre la visita de cinquanta estudiants d’occità vinguts dels liceus (o instituts) Bagatelle de Sent Gaudenç (al departament de l’Alta Garona) i Joseph Saverne de L’Isla de Baish (al Gers), viles gascones situades a l’actual regió francesa de Migdia-Pirineus.
Aquests estudiants, que realitzen un viatge a Catalunya, han fixat el seu centre d’operacions a Lleida, on abans de la visita a la Universitat ja van poder veure llocs emblemàtics com la Seu Vella, el barri antic o els Camps Elisis, entre altres. De fet, abans de Lleida, havien fet escala a la Vall d’Aran. Els estudiants gascons anaven guiats pels professors Joan-Pau Ferré (autor i traductor de diverses obres literàries en gascó, que és alhora president de l’Ostau Comengés, que agrupa les entitats occitanistes del Comenge, país immediatament veí de la Vall d’Aran) i Nicolau Rei-Bèthvéder (escriptor, periodista i autor, entre altres, d’un diccionari del gascó tolosà).
Els estudiants occitans van ser rebuts al Saló Víctor Siurana pel Rector Roberto Fernández, que va fer explícit el compromís de la Universitat de Lleida amb l’occità i que va remarcar-ne la seua singularitat en matèria d’ensenyament i de recerca relacionats amb la llengua d’oc, ja que disposa dels únics estudis de Filologia Catalana i Occitana i de l’única Càtedra d’Estudis Occitans de tot l’Estat espanyol. També hi va prendre part el Dr. Antoni Jové, coordinador del Rectorat. Per la seua banda, el Degà de la Facultat de Lletres, el Dr. Joan Busqueta, va guiar els estudiants per tot l’edifici històric de la Universitat de Lleida, va remarcar els lligams seculars –i el deute– que la ciutat de Lleida i les terres de Ponent tenen amb Occitània i els va iniciar a la mateixa història de la nostra institució, primera universitat peninsular de la Corona d’Aragó, nascuda a imatge i semblança de la de Tolosa de Llenguadoc. El Departament de Filologia Catalana i Comunicació va ser-hi representat a través del seu director, el Dr. Miquel Pueyo; el director de la Càtedra d’Estudis Occitans, Aitor Carrera, i el catedràtic Amadeu Viana, a més de diversos estudiants d’occità que van poder posar en pràctica les seues competències lingüístiques.
Des de la Càtedra d’Estudis Occitans fem una valoració positiva d’aquesta trobada. D’una banda, agraïm als nostres visitants de Sent Gaudenç i l’Isla de Baish el seu interès a visitar la nostra Universitat. D’una altra, donem les gràcies a les nostres autoritats acadèmiques i altres membres de la comunitat universitària pel seu suport i la seua ajuda a l’hora de fer possible aquesta experiència.
